Comprehensive Evaluation
Whether acting as a primary oncologist or providing a second opinion, we are proud to help people with bladder cancer achieve the best possible health outcomes. All cases are discussed within our weekly multidisciplinary tumor board, enabling us to incorporate a range of expert opinions from many different specialists as we determine the best way to manage each patient’s specific cancer.
Total Care
Our patients have access to the world-class care available throughout Weill Cornell Medicine and NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. Our staff will gladly help to coordinate referrals to clinicians whose services supplement bladder cancer treatment.
Patient Navigation
Nurses within our program are available to advise patients regarding appropriate next steps throughout the treatment process. As part of our commitment to seamless transition of care, an up-to-date history of patients’ medical notes, lab and imaging tests is available to designated healthcare professionals via our secure electronic medical records system, allowing new care providers a comprehensive picture of each patient’s health before he or she enters the exam room.
Social Work and Psycho-Oncology
Supportive services are available to help patients address the unique social and emotional needs that can accompany bladder cancer diagnosis and treatment.
Nutrition and Integrative Medicine
Patients may consult with a registered dietitian for guidance regarding nutrition during treatment and beyond. We also offer complementary integrative therapies to help patients mange the symptoms of cancer and its treatment, including guided imagery, therapeutic touch, progressive relaxation, aromatherapy, acupuncture, massage, meditation and yoga.
Insurance and Financial Services
Most of our physicians accept major forms of medical insurance. Once one of our physicians outlines a treatment plan, our account administrators can help with any insurance and financial issues, such as verifying insurance coverage, obtaining authorizations, planning for out-of-pocket expenses and setting up a payment plan, if needed.
Hospital Guest Facility
The Guest Facility at the Helmsley Medical Tower is located next-door to Weill Cornell Medicine/NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. This location makes the Guest Facility at the Helmsley Medical Tower ideal accommodations for patients and their families scheduled for early-morning medical tests or hospital visits, or those in need of follow-up attention. The facility is also an answer for people who live out of town and require extended care, or those who want around-the-clock proximity to a hospitalized loved one.
