Toyooki Sonoda, M.D.
Dr. Sonoda treats a wide variety of colon and rectal diseases, such as colon and rectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, diverticular disease, benign conditions of the anus, and functional problems such as rectal prolapse and incontinence. He has completed specialty training in laparoscopic colon and rectal surgery, and performs laparoscopy for many of these conditions.

Dr. Sonoda graduated from Yale University School of Medicine with a medical degree in 1993. He went on for his postdoctoral training as a general surgery resident for two years at the University of California, San Francisco and then completed his residency at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation in 1998. He completed a laparoscopic fellowship at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in 1999 and performed an administrative chief residency in Colon and Rectal Surgery at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation from 1999-2000. Dr. Sonoda has consistently been rated highly throughout his years at both organizations.
