Dr. Troy LaBounty was born in Des Moines, Iowa, and received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan. Dr. LaBounty obtained a graduate degree before starting medical school, then received his medical degree from the State University at Stony Brook. Dr. LaBounty returned to the University of Michigan where he completed his internal medicine residency. He continued a the University of Michigan and completed his cardiology fellowship training, with a focus on advanced cardiac imaging including Transthoracic and Transesophageal Echocardiography and Cardiac CT. Following this training, Dr. LaBounty joined the Weill Medical College in July 2008 as a full-time faculty member.
Dr. Troy LaBounty practices Transthoracic and Transesophageal Echocardiography, Cardiac CT, and General Cardiology at the Weill Cornell Medical College. His practice includes patients with valvular heart disease, coronary artery disease, and patients with coronary artery disease risk factors. Dr. LaBounty also treats patients with general cardiology conditions. Dr. LaBounty has a special interest in valvular heart disease and in the identification of patients at high risk of acute coronary syndromes.
