Weill Cornell's infectious disease physicians are on the forefront of treatment, research, and support for those with HIV infection, AIDS, and other infectious diseases. The Center for Special Studies, a New York State Designated AIDS Center, provides the full range of health services to people with HIV and AIDS and their children. These services include:

• HIV-specialized primary care, gynecology, dermatology, psychiatry, social work, home care planning, nutritional counseling, and chaplaincy services.
• Two ambulatory clinics, one on the main campus at 68th Street, which is co-located with the Pediatric Center for Special Studies, and an off-site ambulatory site in Chelsea, co-located with the Gay Men's Health Crisis.
• On-site access to current studies and trials. Currently, areas of clinical investigation include: antiretroviral therapy, immune-based therapies, viral co-infections in HIV, and treatment and prevention of HIV-related illnesses and their complications. Patient referrals are welcome and are appreciated.

In addition to providing travel advice and immunizations for persons (4,500 annually) traveling abroad, the physicians of our International Health Care Service diagnose and treat post-travel infectious diseases and offer tropical medicine consultations.
