Dr. Lee is one of the nation's leading experts in laparoscopic colon and rectal surgery. He has performed more than 600 laparoscopic colon and rectal surgeries. Dr. Lee has been invited to served as a faculty member for laparoscopic colon surgery courses at numerous national and international meetings. Dr. Lee currently serves as the director of laparoscopic colon surgery course at Weill Cornell Medical College.
Dr. Lee along with other faculty members from colorectal division at Weill Cornell have developed a non-invasive surgical technique which removes large colon and rectal polyps not amenable for endoscopic removal, while avoiding bowel resection. Our center is one of the two institutions in the U.S., which routinely performs this technique.
Dr. Lee's clinical expertise include minimally invasive treatment of a wide variety of colon and rectal diseases, such as colon and rectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease (ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease), diverticular disease, and rectal prolapse. He also treats benign conditions of the anus and fecal incontinence.

Dr. Lee is considered one of the leading experts in laparoscopic colon and rectal surgery. He has published more than 10 textbook chapters and 30 original articles on the subject of laparoscopic surgery in peer-reviewed journals. He has edited DVD series entitled "laparoscopic colon surgery: learn from the experts", which outlines techniques of laparoscopic colon surgery for practicing surgeons. Dr. Lee has been invited to serve as the course director and faculty for laparoscopic colon surgery courses at national and international meetings. He also serves as an ad hoc expert reviewer of submitted articles on the subject of laparoscopic colon surgery for several medical journals.
Dr. Lee has won many awards for presentations at national meetings. In 2008, he won the department of surgery faculty teaching award.
