Vivien L. Yap, M.D.
It is my privilege to care for the most vulnerable of babies and their families. I am committed to providing the best care for the sick newborn so they have the best chance in life. I have a special interest in the developing newborn brain and in learning what we can do to promote their best outcome, especially when the brain is injured. I also enjoy seeing the babies and their families as they grow in our follow-up clinic for high-risk newborns
Dr. Yap completed her undergraduate and graduate degrees at the University of the Philippines (B.S. in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology and Doctor of Medicine). Following her fellowship, she worked at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and the Arkansas Children’s Hospital as an Assistant Professor and attending neonatologist before returning to New York City.
She is board-certified in both Pediatrics and Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine. Her primary clinical and research interests are in the brain injury of the newborn.
