Dr.Sonam Prakash is Assistant Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Weill Cornell Medical College and an Assistant Attending Pathologist at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital (Cornell Campus). She is board certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology and Hematology and is a Fellow of the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).
Dr. Sonam Prakash completed medical school at Lady Hardinge Medical College, (Delhi University, India) in 1995. She then pursued residency training in Microbiology at Lady Hardinge Medical College. She subsequently completed residency training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Temple University Hospital, Philadelphia and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles; followed by a one-year fellowship in Oncologic Pathology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and a fellowship in Hematopathology at National Cancer Institute, Bethesda under the mentorship of Dr. Elaine Jaffe, an internationally recognized leader in the field. Dr. Prakash served as an Assistant Professor at University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Pittsburgh and an Assistant Attending at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pittsburgh before joining Weill Cornell Medical College.
