Dr. Panida Piboolnurak received her medical degree from Chulalongkorn University in Thailand. She completed her InternalMedicine Internship and attended a year of Neurology Residency Training at Southern Illinois University. Afterward, she continuedand completed her Neurology Residency at Weill Medical College of Cornell University. She had a fellowship training in MovementDisorders and Clinical Motor Physiology for Movement Disorders at the Neurological Institute, Columbia University. Subsequently,she had a fellowship training in Movement Disorder Surgery at University of Toronto, Canada.
Dr. Piboolnurakis specialized in the diagnosis and management of Parkinson's disease, Parkinsonism, and Other Movement Disorders such asdystonia, chorea, myoclonus, ataxia, tic disorders, restless leg syndrome, and various types of abnormal involuntary movements.Her main interests are in deep brain stimulation (DBS) for Parkinson's disease and other Movement Disorders, botulinum toxininjections for Movement Disorders and Spasticity, and Motor Physiology of Movement Disorders.
In additionto the general clinical care for the patients with Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders, Dr. Piboolnurak workswith a multidisciplinary team of specialists including neurosurgeons, neurophysiologists, neuropsychologists, psychiatrists,neuroradiologists, physical therapists and occupational therapists in order to provide an excellent care for the patients,who require the treatment with deep brain stimulation (DBS).
