Jesuel Padro-Guzman, M.D.
I am a board certified physician in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R), also known as a physiatrist. After completing my residency training at San Juan Veterans Hospital Medical Center, I went on to receive subspecialty fellowship training in Cancer Rehabilitation Medicine at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. I have special expertise in evaluating and treating the neuromuscular, musculoskeletal, and functional complications that patients sometimes develop as a result of cancer and cancer treatments. These complications can include acute and chronic pain, weakness, muscle spasms, neuropathy, myopathy, deconditioning, contractures, spasticity, spinal cord injury, lymphedema, amputation, and gait disorders. I also treat patients with general musculoskeletal complaints.
I provide individualized, comprehensive musculoskeletal care focused on the non-operative treatment of joint, muscle and nerve injuries. My treatments include appropriate physical therapy programs, medication management and selective injections including ultrasound-guided injections. Furthermore I perform electrodiagnostic tests (nerve conduction studies and electromyography) to aid in the diagnosis of muscle and nerve pathologies. I also utilize electrodiagnostic modalities to guide botulinum toxin injections to manage pain and spasticity.
