Dr. Erich P. Voigt is a board certified Otorhinolaryngologist - Head and Neck Surgeon. His specialty interests include thyroid and parathyroid surgery, surgery for snoring and sleep apnea, sinusitis and nasal polyps including state of the art computer image guidance stereotactic sinus surgery, as well as pediatric surgery for congenital neck masses, adenotonsillar disease and ear infections. He also diagnoses and treats the full spectrum of ear, nose and throat disorders in adults and children.
Dr. Voigt is an Assistant Professor of Otorhinolaryngology at Weill Medical College of Cornell University. He is an alumnus of the Bronx High School of Science and received his undergraduate degree from St. John's University. He received his Medical Degree, magna cum laude, from SUNY Health Science Center at Brooklyn / Downstate Medical Center. He was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha(AOA) the national medical honor society in 1994.
Dr. Voigt's post graduate medical training included two years of General Surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital followed by three years at the Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and The New York Hospital - Cornell Medical Center combined program. He also served as the first graduating Chief Resident of the combined Columbia University - Weill Cornell Medical College Otolaryngology program in 2000.
Dr. Voigt is the author of several book chapters and peer reviewed journal articles including nasal and paranasal physiology, unusual tumors of the temporal bone, surgical approach to the anterior cervical spine among others. He is actively involved in the teaching of medical students in all four years of the medical school curriculum as well as the training of residents in various specialties.
Dr. Voigt is a native New Yorker and is a married father of 3 children. His personal interests include physical fitness including hockey, running, cycling and water sports, as well as coaching youth ice hockey and soccer.
