Dr. Carlos Medina is an Assistant Professor of Urology at Weill Cornell Medical College and an Assistant Attending Urologist at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. He is board certified in urology.
Dr. Medina received his B.A. with honors from Columbia University, where he was a double major in Philosophy and History. After completing Post-Baccalaureate Premedical coursework at Hunter College in 1995, he entered Weill Cornell Medical College, where he was awarded various fellowships and received his medical degree (M.D.) in 1999. Dr. Medina went on to complete his residency at the University of Connecticut in the Department of Urology, and continued his subspecialty training as a Pediatric Urology Fellow at the San Diego Children's Hospital in affiliation with the Naval Hospital San Diego.
In addition to his pediatric urology expertise, Dr. Medina's training and professional experience include hyperbaric chamber medicine and operations. He trained at the Naval Undersea Medicine Institute and worked as a Diving Medical Officer in the US Navy Reserves Mobile Dive and Salvage Unit-2. In addition, prior to residency, he served as a member of the US Marine Corps, 34th Interrogator Team for more than ten years, receiving a Navy Achievement Medal and Meritorious Unit Commendation.
