Endocrine and Minimally Invasive Surgery is a special field of surgery that focuses on the management of problems (principally benign and malignant tumors) of the thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal glands, as well as endocrine tumors of the pancreas and gastrointestinal tract. The goals of the Section of Endocrine and Minimally Invasive Surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center are to provide excellent patient care and advance knowledge of diseases of these glands through research and education.

The clinical focus of the Section of Endocrine and Minimally Invasive Surgery is to employ Minimally Invasive Techniques to provide superb care. To this end, thyroid and parathyroid surgery is performed under local or regional anesthesia using small incisions. Adrenal tumors are approached via laparoscopic or robotic techniques whenever possible.

We emphasize strong collaboration within our teams to bring a unique multidisciplinary care that is patient centric and novel. This enables us to work together to conduct collaborative research needed to develop and improve our expertise. Our multidisciplinary team is comprised of thought leaders and practicing researchers dedicated to the studies of tumor biology, who continue to be well published and highly respected within the community.

professional, confident, reassuring and something unfortunately forgotten, a great “bedside manner”.

Talking about Rasa Zarnegar, M.D.

I saw him via referral for recurring diverticulitis. He made himself available quickly, described the procedure very carefully. Surgery was successful. He did an extra follow up with me a week early when I was concerned about some post operative pain. Felt I was in very good hands throughout the process.

I'm so glad I went for a 2nd opinion and I felt heard and even is the same recommendation from the first one, I went ahead with Dr. Fahey. He takes his time to explain, he listens and provide you alternatives. He is knowledgeable and gives you a good feeling that you are in excellent hands, and you are.
