Dr. Pochapin is the recipient of numerous honors and awards, some of which include:
1998 --- The Elliott Hochstein Teaching Award
Awarded as the faculty member who "best exemplifies the qualities of compassion, skill, and distinction as a physician and teacher by the vote of the graduating medical school class."
1998 --- Humanism in Medicine Award
(by the NBI Healthcare Foundation)
Awarded at medical school convocation "in recognition of compassion,sensitivity, respect, and cultural competence in the delivery of care to patients and their families."
1996-2000 --- The Senior List
Presented each year by the graduating medical school class to 16 faculty members in recognition of teaching excellence.
1996,1998,1999 --- Second Year Teaching Award
Awarded at medical school convocation to one faculty member in recognition of contributions to the undergraduate medical education at Cornell University Medical College, by vote of the second- year class."
