Michael Silane, MD is a nationally-renowned vascular surgeon at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. Dr. Silane is a Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College, and an Associate Surgeon at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center.
Dr. Silance is borad certified in Surgery and has a Certificate of Special Competence in General Vascular Surgery. He is a member of many professional societies, including the American College of Surgeons, Society for Vascular Surgery, Association of Academic Surgeons, Eastern Vascular Society, New York Society for Vascular Surgery, New York Surgical Society and the Peripheral Vascular Surgical Society.
Dr. Silane earned his Medical Degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in 1969. He completed his internship and residency at The New York Hospital, serving as Chief Resident in Surgery from 1975-1976. Dr. Silane completed his fellowship training in Vascular Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco, and was an NIH Research Fellow at Harvard Medical School, in Boston, MA.
He served in the military from 1972-1974, as Lieutenant Commander, Medical Corps, USN Reserve.
