Leonard Young Lee, M.D.

Through my years of training, I have been exposed to many major medical centers across the country. Few have been able to live up to the high standards set by the Weill Cornell Medical College in terms of standards of patient care and the facilities available to both faculty and patients alike. Dr. Isom has nurtured an atmosphere in which a team approach is utilized to maximize patient care and benefit. To be a member of such a team including cardiologists, cardiac anethesiologists, other cardiac surgeons, nurses and technicians is an honor.

Dr. Leonard Y. Lee is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at New York Presbyterian-Weill Cornell Medical Center.

Dr. Lee completed his undergraduate studies at Lehigh University in 1987. He pursued his medical education at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and received his training in general surgery at St. Vincent's Hospital and Medical Center of New York - New York Medical College. Dr. Lee then performed two years of basic science research at Weill Cornell Medical Center's cardiothoracic surgical laboratory, focusing on gene therapy for cardiac applications as well as transmyocardial laser revascularization, both under the guidance of Dr. Wayne Isom.

Upon completion of his cardiothoracic surgical training, Dr. Lee accepted his current position as Assistant Professor in the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery. Dr. Lee has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and has also spoken at many national and international meetings.
