Dr. Kim is an inpatient attending psychiatrist at New York-Presbyterian Hospital’s Westchester Division. She is currently the Unit Chief of the Women’s Program at Payne Whitney Westchester. The Women’s Program is a 25-bed adult inpatient unit for female patients, with a specialized cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) focus.
Prior to working at the Westchester Division, Dr. Kim was an inpatient attending psychiatrist on the geriatric and general adult psychiatry units at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City. She received her B.A. in English Literature from Yale University, and then received her M.D. from the Medical College of Virginia, where she won several national writing awards for medical students. She completed her internship and residency in psychiatry at Mount Sinai, where she received the Adele Zinberg Women’s Psychiatry Award. She also won a fellowship award from the American Psychiatric Association/Aventis Women Leaders in Psychiatry Program. She is board certified in general psychiatry.
Dr. Kim’s clinical interests include women’s issues, affective disorders, anxiety disorders, psychosomatic medicine, geriatric psychiatry, psychodynamic psychotherapy, psychopharmacology, cognitive-behavior therapy for inpatient units, medical humanities and cultural psychiatry.
