Arun Rao, M.D.

The ability to provide a continuum of care, manage complex medical and psychosocial issues, and learn lessons from different generations all inspired Dr. Rao to enter geriatrics after internal medicine training. Dr. Rao joined the Division of Geriatrics in 2002, and serves as the Clinical Director of the House Call Program and the Assistant Program Director for the Geriatric Medicine Fellowship.  He sees patients at the Irving Sherwood Wright Center on Aging and at home as part of the House Call Program.  He has an interest in ethnicity and aging and medical education.

Dr. Rao obtained his Bachelor's of Science Degree from The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 1993.  He then earned his M.D. from UMDNJ- Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in 1997.  After completing his internship and residency in internal medicine in 2000 at Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center in New Brunswick, NJ, Dr. Rao returned to Ann Arbor, MI to complete his fellowship in geriatric medicine at The University of Michigan Medical School.  He then joined the faculty of Weill Cornell Medical College in 2002. He serves as the Clinical Director of the Medical House Call Program and also as the Assistant Director of the Geriatric Medicine Fellowship Program.
