A licensed psychologist hired to the Cornell faculty in 2001, Dr. Andrew Robins works in the Child Outpatient Department of Payne Whitney Westchester in White Plains, New York with research, supervisory/teaching, and clinical responsibilities. Current research interests include the evaluation of ADHD and Aspergers Syndrome, as well as the effects of divorce on children and parents. Clinical work includes individual and family therapy with children and adolescents, social skills groups, and psychological/neuropsychological testing. Primary areas of interest are childhood anxiety disorders, Aspergers Disorder, ADHD, LD, NVLD, and impaired family functioning.

Originally from Westfield, New Jersey, Dr. Andrew Robins attended Vassar College as an undergraduate Psychology major. He worked at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) in Bethesda, Maryland, before pursuing a doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. His graduate studies specialized in clinical child psychology, culminating in a clinical internship at Children's Hospital at Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. His dissertation, which was awarded an Armington Foundation Grant, examined family perceptions of parental support and the role of support in the development of children's empathy. After two additional years of postdoctoral training at Weill Cornell-NYP, Dr. Robins was hired as a faculty member in Psychology at Weill Cornell Medical College, Payne Whitney Westchester. A clinician, researcher, and teacher/supervisor, Dr. Robins was awarded 'Teacher of the Year' by psychology trainees in 2003 and 2006. His clinic and private practice work specializes in childhood anxiety, Aspergers Disorder, social skills training, ADHD, LD and NVLD, and breakdowns in family functioning.
