Andrew John Collins, M.D.

Dr. Andrew J. Collins is Associate Professor of Clinical Radiology at Weill Cornell Medical College and an Associate Attending Radiologist at New York-Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Campus. He is a member of the Division of Emergency and Musculoskeletal Radiology. Dr. Collins’ clinical expertise is in musculoskeletal imaging and he interprets and performs a wide variety of exams including CT, MRI, arthrography, plain film, ER Musculoskeletal cases, facet and nerve root injections, myelography, discography, and biopsies.

He achieved Board Certification in Diagnostic Radiology from the American Board of Radiology in 1988.

Dr. Collins earned his B.S. in Biology, magna cum laude, from Boston College, Chestnut Hill, MA in 1978. He was awarded his M.D. degree from the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ)-New Jersey Medical School in Newark, NJ in 1983.

Dr. Collins was an intern (1983-1984) in internal medicine at St. Michael’s Medical Center, Newark, NJ before completing his radiology residency training (1984-1987) in Diagnostic Radiology at UMDNJ-University Hospital, Newark, NJ. Dr. Collins then completed a Fellowship in Musculoskeletal Radiology at the Hospital for Special Surgery, New York, NY from 1987-1988.

Dr. Collins is also very active in teaching of residents, fellows and medical students in both didactic lectures and during clinical rotations. He is an invited speaker and presenter at national conferences and has lectured extensively on musculoskeletal imaging.
