Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology

The Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology cares for children and families afflicted with childhood blood disorders and cancers.  The Division is led by Dr. Patricia J. Giardina and includes six internationally renowned physicians and a staff of dedicated administrators, nurses, social workers, genetic counselors, technicians and post-doctoral fellows. 

The Division provides comprehensive medical and professional services to over one thousand children and their families in both inpatient and outpatient services.  Twenty-four hour emergency service is available. 

Leaders in Research

The scientific faculty conducts basic research to identify and develop new medications and curative strategies for childhood blood disorders and cancers. The ACGME-accredited fellowship program conducted in collaboration with the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center pediatric program graduates six board eligible Pediatric Hematologists/Oncologists each year.  In addition, our clinical faculty conduct and participate in clinical research trials to improve the management of childhood blood disorders and cancers.
